Unwind with Holla is a community in Scotland that runs picnics, sip and paint afternoons, games nights and other gatherings, hires out event equipment and works with local vendors. This page explains what we collect about you, why, who we share it with and what you can ask us to do with it.
Questions or requests about your data: email hello@unwindwithholla.com.
What we collect
- When you join the community: your name, email, phone number, where you're based, what you're into, and your birthday if you choose to give it.
- When you book an event: your name, email and phone number, answers to any questions on the booking form, and the people and tickets you booked.
- When you hire equipment: your name, email, phone number, the dates and items, and your address if we deliver.
- When you apply as a vendor: your business and contact details, photos of your work, and documents such as a food hygiene certificate.
- When you volunteer, join a waitlist or send us an enquiry: your name, contact details and what you tell us.
- When you email us: your message and any attachments.
- At the door: when your ticket is scanned, so we know you arrived.
We don't see or store your card details. Payments are taken by Stripe.
Why we use it
- To do what you asked: confirm bookings and send tickets, run rentals, review vendor applications, organise volunteers, and reply to you.
- To keep you posted: reminders before events you've booked, and a note if an event moves or is cancelled.
- With your permission: news of upcoming gatherings, member offers, and a birthday message. Every one of these emails has an unsubscribe link, and you can change your mind any time.
- To run things safely and fairly: preventing fraud and double-booking, and keeping records of payments and refunds.
Who we share it with
We never sell your data. We use a few services to run the site, and they only use your details to provide that service to us:
- Stripe takes card payments and refunds.
- Resend sends and receives our emails. For our newsletters (not tickets or booking emails) it tells us whether an email was opened or a link was clicked.
- Cloudflare stores photos and documents you upload.
- Plausible counts visits to the website without cookies or any personal data.
- WhatsApp runs our community group. If you join it, WhatsApp's own privacy policy applies to what happens there.
How long we keep it
We keep your details while you're part of the community or while we need them for the reason you gave them, and payment records for as long as the law requires. Files you upload with a booking or volunteer form are deleted a year after the event, and unfinished vendor applications are deleted automatically. Ask us and we'll delete your details sooner, unless we have to keep something by law.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it for something. Email hello@unwindwithholla.com and we'll reply within a month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Photos at our gatherings
We take photos at our events and share some in our gallery and on social media. If you'd rather not be in them, tell the team on the day, or email us and we'll take a photo down.
